Dreams of Glory

Everyone must learn how to play games, whether it is a board game or a game on the field of athletic competition.  Famously, Tiger Woods learned to play golf starting when he was 2 or 3 years of age. Who better to teach one how to play than a grandpa and a daddy?

And so it is that today my youngest son and I gave his oldest girl (3 years of age) her first soccer lesson.  She is a very active, athletic young girl, and I suspect that if she decides to get serious about any sport some day that she’ll do very well.  Her mother was an outstanding dancer and her daddy a world-class gymnast.  She’s got the genes for being able to accomplish nearly anything that she should set out to do.

After running and playing on the soccer field in the sun, we moved to the shady end of the field and while she relaxed for a while, I got a few pictures.  She’s dreaming of glory…

Dreaming of Olympic gold…

ON THIS DAY IN HISTORY: in 1430, Joan of Arc was captured and handed over to the British.

TRIVIA FOR TODAY: because baby pigs grow so fast, a total of 48 pigs were used in the filming of the movie, Babe.
